Piedmont Triad Representatives Will Travel to Orlando, Florida, for Performance Racing Industry Trade Show
Triad -

PIEDMONT TRIAD - The Piedmont Triad will have two representatives in Florida this week attending the 19th Annual Performance Racing Industry trade show taking place in the Orange County Convention Center December 14 - 16. There will be approximately 1400 companies exhibiting at the show -- representing 40 countries – and an estimated 45,000 attendees including racing retailers, engine builders, fabricators, engineers, professional race teams, and other motorsports businesspeople.

Representing the Piedmont Triad will be Bill Shore, Regional Manager, North Carolina Department of Commerce, and Bobby Todd, Director, Yadkin County Chamber of Commerce. While in Orlando, the two will call on companies exhibiting at the trade show and help staff a North Carolina booth organized by the North Carolina Department of Commerce.

“Motorsports in an important and growing sector within the Piedmont Triad’s automotive cluster,” says Don Kirkman, president and CEO of the Piedmont Triad Partnership. “While North Carolina is recognized as a center for motorsports by some segments of the industry, we want to make sure our contacts understand just how much of the state’s activity is centered in our region and the opportunities available to companies considering the Piedmont Triad,” adds Kirkman. “With competition for companies in this sector only increasing, we must stay active in our marketing efforts.”

The Piedmont Triad Partnership (PTP), one of seven regional economic development partnerships in North Carolina, is the economic development organization representing the 12-county Piedmont Triad region.
The PTP is also the lead organization for the U.S. Department of Labor-funded Workforce Innovations in Regional Economic Development (WIRED) initiative, which supports the development of an integrated regional economic development and workforce development strategy for the Piedmont Triad. The Piedmont Triad, the nation's 36th-largest metro area with more than 1.5 million residents, includes the counties of Alamance, Caswell, Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Guilford, Montgomery, Randolph, Rockingham, Stokes, Surry, and Yadkin.
